Are there any community colleges around here that have welding programs? I can probably do alright on my own, but I would really like to learn from someone that can point out mistakes, safety issues, stuff like that. I work nights, so daytime classes are what I need to find. Or a Saturday only type. I know I can do an internet search, but first hand knowledge is better. Thanks,Russ
Reply:[QUOTE=russ69coupe]Are there any community colleges around here that have welding programs? You might want to check out Stark Tech in North Canton. They might have a day class. We almost had one in Barberton, at AMI. I went there for machine repair thinking I would get experience in repairing CNC's- no such luck! I was asked if I would be interested in teaching a welding class. Everything was going along fine until I explained that they would have to buy enough welders so that each student would have their own. They lost interest after that! --------------john

Reply:We have a directory of schools on WeldingMag.com, our other site. If you look under the heading Community on this nav bar, you can link to the list by clicking on Welding Schools. You can then search by zip or city to find schools in the area.Sarah HardingWelding MagazineAssociate Publisher |
