Clean Welding Table

How do you guys clean the splatter off your tables? I know for certain not to use a grinder. I saw a thread here once before and have done a search but could not find it. Thanks for your help.

Reply:You can use a grinder but if you do get a disc with a threaded hub and make sure you have it flat on the table . don't tilt it and it will work just fine._________________Chris

Reply:What is this "clean table" you are talking about??  Explain what a "clean table" looks like please. I may have one if I only knew what they look like. I'll go looky.

Reply:All I use is a 80 flapper. I run it flat and make sure I don't take any of the surface off. It has been working great.
Reply:can you scrape it off?  the only reason i would shy away from anti spatter is it smells kinda nasty when it burns.  i tack things to my table then grind the welds off all the time, why so against grinding on table.  obviously it takes some care and you have to try and avoid leaving big divots, otherwise it's no big deal.

Reply:I found a big heavy chisel looking thing used for installing carpeting.    I ground an edge on it and use it to scrape the slag and stuff off the table.There are no small projects

Reply:Thanks for the replies. In the past I have used a chisel or heavy scraper used for cleaning mortar off floors but have wanted something a little easier and that would not grind down the table.Thanks again.

Reply:Grinder held flat. Do it all the time at work. These tables have had spatter ground off for years. It takes alot to wear down a welding table. Dave
Reply:I dont make a mess on my table.. I give it a acetone bath and thats that  ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
