Next problem w/ my DialArc Hf. The gas begins flowing as soon as the machine is turned on and does not stop...ever. I narrowed it down, somewhat, to the remote contactor switch. When the switch is set to remote contactor, the gas flows, when it is set to standard the gas is off - whether or not I have the pedal plugged in or not. (The machine has two lines going to the pedal, one for remote contactor and one for remote amperage control)I've also checked the two wires going to the gas solenoid. With the two wires disconnected from the solenoid I get 77 volts from each wire. That can't be right, can it? Power going in to both sides of the solenoid? The machine also has a post flow timer, but no matter where it is set, the gas continues to flow. I've downloaded the manual from Miller but I'm still at a loss. Any suggestions?Sure, I can fix it... I got a welder!!!
Reply:Does the machine have a timer on it? To control the amount of Post-Flow gas? If so that may have crapped out. I have a Miller HF unit that had the same symptoms and it was the timer.
