i was wondering wat the reason is for using pulsed arc on tig welding
Reply:Don't know, it's an option on my Miller. The only thing I can figure is welding body panels while moving slowly, putting small tacks in, to keep from warping the panel.
Reply:I'm pretty sure there was an in depth thread on this not too long ago.... do a search on it._________________Chris
Reply:Pulser will be the best to aswer your question. I asked the same one. Pulsed current puts LESS total heat into the base metal with out causing distortion and still getting complete penatration. My tig has it. I rarely use it. When I do use it, I NEED it to prevent burnthrough on the small stuff.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:thanks ,hav it on my own machine aswel, was just curious
Reply:What I have heard about it is that its used to tig weld aluminum to break through any oxide that is still left on the surface of the work. Or am I thinking something else?
