I am looking at the little dewalt die grinders and was wondering what you guys that own them think of them. I like how they are small and light, but I am worried they don't pack a punch at 3amps.
Reply:I have the 1 1/2 model and it is great. Packs quite a punch for a little guy. I use it with carbide burrs mostly, but occasionally use flap wheels on it. It is a handy little beast, that's for sure. Get it, you won't know how you got along without it before.
Reply:has anyone tried the 2" model???
Reply:I use these big giant ones at work. They weigh about as much as a heavy duty 7" angle grinder and have just as much torque. How do the dewalts compare to these? They are slow enough with the carbide pointed bits as it is. But I can't stand holding that thing over my head or in tight spots for very long.
Reply:I have the Dewalt Die grinder. The handle and motor look like they are right from a 7" grinder. Its a nice heavy duty Tool. Lotsa balls, lots of bearing surface. I too should have bought the next size smaller. I think this model is 2", but not sure. The whole tool is as big as a 7" grinder.I love it and will probably have it for ever.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor. |
