I have this welder. Its awesome and I love it. Ive had it almost a year now and no problems so far.The metal clamp thing at the bottom that conduct the current has this copper strip in it that is screwed to both ends of the clamp. That is what conducts the current.Mine broke. It kind of ripped and now it doesnt want to weld properly and sputters and spatters. What would that strip be called so I can buy a new one? Or do I need to buy a new clamp? Thanks Attached Images
Reply:Thats called bonding braid. Tough to come buy unless your local dealer might accidently carry that particular part. Otherwise it comes in rolls with and without the pre-installed grommets. In the mean time, always clean the spot where you are g=connecting the work lead clamp and make sure the side with the work lead attached to it is setting on good clean metal. Check that connector for tightness and corrsion.
Reply:If the ground clamp on your machine is like the one in the picture, that thing thats bolted to both sides is the bussiness part of the clamp. that clamp looks like a thin formed piece, so they have that copper on there to carry the current. If you go to a welding supply place you can get a new ground clamp that wont have that thing on it, it will be a nice heavy piece that will attach to the work lead with a set screw. worth the $
