can someone tell me what i can expect from the hobart 125 ez welder  the manual says it can weld up to3/16" metal.very easy to use by manual.thanks
Reply:In a single pass, 1/8" is realistic. With an .030 E71T-11 wire, 1/4" in multiple passes is realistic. .030 is the wire sized that the unit was designed to run best, and this very obvious once you try an .030 and .035 wire on the unit.I have to admit originally I wasn't expecting much out of this unit. After running one though,  I am very impressed with how well it performs on 1/8" with an .030 wire.
Reply:I just got one less than a month ago and have been playing around with it as time allows.I have a small 110 stick welder that is supposed to be good to an1/8''.The hobart really has alot more heat for comparison. It does everything they say it will and parts and consumables are not a problem.I work near a miller dealer and they can get you parts with  miller or hobart #'s that are supplied in the manual.Look it it up on weldtalk on the hobart site and you'll find some good reviews.I really like it so far.pro-level dumpster diver                                     Hobart 125EZ
Reply:I ran one today for the first time. I was impressed. It acts like it is a much bigger unit than it is. I would get one if I needed it.
Reply:What do you intend to weld, with the unit.  Hard wire, fluxcore, Duelshield?   JohnSMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases.  There all here. :

Reply:I would only be using the flux core & would be welding no more than 1/8" mild steel.thanks

The .030 was much better, but it did ok with the .035..ok, but not great. It welds way better than my MM135 with FC.
Reply:Nothing wrong with a little experimentation. Besides, that is all I had in T-11 wire. It did well on 16 ga when we went a tap up. Well, just not great. But it was ok enough I wouldn't be aversed to using it that way. It did run the T-GS wire better than any machine I have used before. The beads were perfect. Never ran a perfect Fabshield 23 bead before. Must be all in the right machine. He did like the MM210. We ran a little short circuit, glob and spray on 1/4. I was running HB-28, so what's not to like?  Ran the HH210 as well. Had strange wire in it, so it was egual or a little less than the MM performance wise. Shoulda changed to Pinnacle. Would have made a difference.
