My client here has a torch that I have never seen or used until today it's a Magnum USA outfit. I was asked to search around for some 1/4 x 44 inch copper coated magnesium rods and the cheapest I can find them for is $4.44 per stick from Arcet. Now I contacted the company and asked them what the rods would cost from them and they quoted $220 per 100 or $22,500 for a pallet and they might throw in a extra five boxes or so. So would any of you folks know where to get these copper clad tubes of magnesium?
Reply:Looks like a Broco torch from what I googled on line. Are you running it from a welder or the strike type. I get rods for our Broco torch from Mar-Vel International in Jersey ( they do ship ) 1-800-325-5711. We use them for underwater cuttting. Not sure if this helps or not. Work calls and I just swing by and grab them so I don't know the pricing.The broco torch is awsome. It will cut thru everything. Not the cheapest way to go I'm sure but it does solve some strange problems.Good luck and let me know how you make out.
