respirators

I was just wondering if you guys knew of any good respirators that fit under your welding helmet if there is such a thing.
Reply:I use a 3M 5000 series, fits well under my fibermetal hood and you can get alot of different filters for it depending on what your doing. And it is relativly cheap and comfortable.

Reply:i use a north with hoses to go behind my back cause the cartidges ar too big to go under the helmet and i don't use pancake filters cause i weld aluminum.http://specific.net
Reply:ill second the 3m ones, i have a few, they fit under some of my hoods, but not all of them (the fibre metal hood fits best)You could also just try a throw away paper filter if need be.  Anything is better than nothing.
