I have a job to tig weld what they claim to be 320 stainless plate. I cannot find a listing for it, let alone find a wire for it. Techalloy makes a 320L wire that says its for castings but this is definately not cast. Also while we are at it , what wire do you recommend for Inconel, I have techalloy 625 - Is that the right match?

Reply:Not familiar with 320, did find this on Matweb, Universal 320 produces a fully austenitic deposit for welding Carpenter Stainless No. 20Cb-3 (wrought form) or Durimet 20 (cast form) or similar alloys. The 320 alloy was developed to give improved resistance to the corrosive action of sulfuric acid. AWS E320-15,16 http://www.matweb.com/search/DataShe...D=19597&ckck=1For the Inconel, you need to know what alloy of Inconel you have, 600, 625, 718, etc. http://www.matweb.com/search/QuickText.aspx |
