Hey guys I have been reading this site for a while but haven't really posted much. Now I need some help. When I bought my Lincoln 180 I hooked the polarity up for running fluxcore. I just bought a 60cuf bottle with argon/co2. I was welding with it today and it just doesn't seem like it is welding properly now that may just be me but am i supposed to switch the polarity to tun solid wire and gashttp://www.wefabricateit.com
Reply:The shorty answer is yes, you need to switch polarity for solid wire.

Reply:Failing to read instructions and warnings in the welding world, CAN get you killed. It is not like a computer. Also if you switch from FCAW to GMAW you may need to change the liner that the filler wire runs thru. Did you read about that in your instruction book?I predict that in the very near future a person will not just be able to walk into a store and buy a welding rig with NO training at all. That will happen when the first oxy-actylene rig blows up in a parking lot.
Reply:The liner is already in it. Eas up dude all I did was ask about the polarity didn't ask how to hook up the work clamp or where to point the gun.http://www.wefabricateit.com

Reply:Yep, gotta switch the polarity. Don't worry about it man. I forget all the time and I weld for a living, lmao. Of course I recognize it real quick too with the accompanying aw [email protected] difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist. |
