Reply:That seller knows what he has, I bet the reserve is triple the current starting bid. He states lower in the listing that new it lists for $1300 (which it does). Against my better judgment, my current employer bought a chika-da-china unit for HALF what the tiny US made positioners are selling at and it has double the holding capacity. It's a decent unit but crazy that even US companies are buying China tooling and accessories. John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com

Reply:Here is a from work of the project that i'm helping build and engineer on. It's a mining shuttle car. It weighs about 28000 lbs and we are trying to build six a month. We spin it it that positoner 360* Every weld on the car is done with FCAW-G. I believe the minimum plate thickness on it is 3/8" up to about 3". Heavey Fabrication. Reply:Isn't a positoner like that one shown on Ebay nothing more than a lathe chuck on a variable speed motor?
