Reply:After a google search this is all I came up with..You may be outta luck..http://www.magnesium.com/w3/...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Magnesium extrusions aren't exactly common, castings aside i've only ever come across plate and bar products.Aerospace is one of the few industries that come to mind. I'd start by getting in touch with >www.magnesium-elektron.comwww.magnesium-elektron.com<. If anyone can point you to a stockholder it's probably themJust curious, why mag?
Reply:My company is in the driller business (sink holes) and this is going to be a portable driller. Well more like a pusher. The one we use now is aluminum and weighs about 180 lbs. Also, we have some difficulties with flexing. I figure I could solve weight and the flexing by using mag.
Reply:Young's modulus for mag is approx 2/3rds that of Al. However due to mags low density the specific stiffness is similar to Al.
