I need advice on a welding helmet. I'm looking at an Arc One Vision Xtreme X540. Anyone familiar with it or how it would compare to a Jackson NexGen 3N1? Thanks for any help.
Reply:I've never used either, but I use an arc one singles lens in my pancake. It's a good lens. Jackson hoods are good hoods and I have used them for most of 40 years. I have a Boss 3N1 that I am sending my dad (it's too heavy and causes problems because of a bad neck). It's a good lens and I really liked it, but couldn't take the migraines. I'm using a Miller now and may never buy another Jackson. You might try searching the forum because there has been some discussion on this and the arc one hoods. I seem to remember a couple of guys who had problems with them. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
Reply:If the helmet's for a job you're at - try to get the same type they use there so you can get free lenses for it My last job used Speedglass helmets for their shop helmets, and I have a Miller Elite... and the b*stards wouldn't order lenses for me."A winner isn't someone who doesn't lose, a winner is someone who doesn't quit." |
