Jackson Nexgen or Miller Elite hood?

I am in the market for a new hood, and have found myself stuck between these two.  I do mostly inverter tig welding(135-20 amps) and also some mig as well.  Which one is a btter choice?  Thanks.
Reply:I've used Miller, I've used Speeglas, I've used Jackson, etc etc.  The NexGen was by FAR better than any of the others.  The optics are awesome, it works well down to the lowest of amperages, no green tint to anything, cut/grind modes, and the hoods take standard cover lenses.  I sound like a broken record every time this topic comes up, but its one of the best investments I've ever made.  They're also made in the USA, and their customer service is top notch.  If you need something really light weight or for tight spaces, I'd get the new Halo shell for it.  It would have come in handy when I was doing chassis work, that's for sure.

Reply:I have and use both...I use my next gen in my field hood.  I use my miller in the shop...they both have there advantages....but miller has the edge with its grind mode...its 3 shade is lighter then the nexgen...I like the nexgen cause it fits in my sellstrom aswell as my jackson hood.  I did not like the hayO-X shield for field use...The miller didnt fit on a hard hat very well plus the miller with its light weight material, I found to be too flimsy to use  it the field.  I also don't like the cover lenses...they are custom..and expensive.  The next gen uses standard 4x5's and you can trip the inside lense to fit instead of buying them.   Basically, they perform the same...the cost is close to the same and only real hassle is the cover lensesJonesy
Reply:I have a Miller Elite , it is comfortable and vision is good, never tried the Nexgen.I find the Miller fogs up a lot with my cheater in it.Anyone with suggestions?BrettA good guess is better than a bad measurement
