Spoolmate 3035?

Hello, I'm looking into purchasing a Spoolmate 3035 for my MM210 but am wondering if the Hobart and Miller Spoolmate 3035 are the same? The reason I ask is that I found a cheaper Hobart 3035 gun by at least 100$.Thanks!Millermatic 210

Reply:Thanks Bob, but the link you provided says that the item has ended. Also, 116$ to ship a 12lb. package to Canada is pretty effin steep if you ask me. I looked at his ebay store and there are no spool guns listed? Oh well, guess my question still remains, are the Hobart and Miller 185/3035 spool guns the same? ChadMillermatic 210

Reply:big_pink_snapper.Set you a pm.  I stumbled upon this thread.  I am in Ontario and within a day or two I will have a Hobart DP-3035-20 spool gun that is brand new - never plugged in - arriving with my newly purchased MM210.If you are interested, I think we can make a deal and it will save you the cost of cross border shipping and the associated UPS brokerage / stealerage fees.  It will save me the hassle of listing it and having to ship it to the USA to sell.
Reply:A Hobart DP 3035 won't fit a MM210. It uses a small Hobart specific power pin while the MM210 uses lugged connections. I have both guns. The gun itself is alomst to exactly the same....the cable and connections are vastly different.QamuIs Heg qaq law' lorvIs yInqaq puS
Reply:This is the response I got from the Miller tech support folks as well.  I'm scratching my head as to why my MM210 was sold with the Hobart gun.  When it gets here I guess I'll see if there is an adapter of some sort that was used.If not then its going to go up on ebay for a Hobart owner.
Reply:Hey wait a second!  I just looked at that link aametalmaster sent us to - that claims that the same gun will fit both Miller and Hobart.  It claims that it is equivalent to  Miller Spoolmate™ 185/3035 spool gun.
Reply:The Hobart DP 3035 is the new gun that was made for the HH210. It uses a power pin almost the same as the mig gun has. Hobart does have a 3035 that is the same as the Miller 3035 that uses a twin hose and a loop style power lug and push on gas hose. The DP 3035 gets power from the mig gun socket and gas from the mig gun gas ports in the power block. Does that splain it??QamuIs Heg qaq law' lorvIs yInqaq puS
Reply:That is starting to make more sense.   I looked at the pictures of the packaging and the gun I am getting and it is in fact, not a DP-3035-20 but a "3035-20".  So it looks like it is going to fit the MM210 just fine.The question I have outstanding is... if the DP-3035-20 was made for the HH210 - what Hobart machine does the generic "3035-20" fit??
Reply:It seems to all make sense now.  Just picked up my MM210 and spoolgun at the freight terminal today.  Opened em up and the spool gun is a '3035-20' and not the DP-3035-20.  The gun fits the MM210 right out of the box.  The connector is the about the same as that for the mig gun as DDA52.  This generic gun that is compatible with my MM210 was made for the Hobart Handlers 140 and 180 (they require a controller in addition to the gun) and the Hobart Ironman 210.  So it seems like an older model of Spoolgun which was compatible all around.Big_Pink_Snapper - if you are interested you better give me a shout ASAP because I'm starting to toy with the idea of keeping the sucker now that I've got it in my shop
