I am going to buy a Lincoln Buzz box (tombstone) or a Hobart Stickmate? Which one will hold up the longest as far as durability? Also, which one will put down the best beads as far as performance goes? Thank youWhiteyWhitey____________________________Lincoln Pro Mig 180Clarke Mig 125Clarke Mig 95Hobart Stickmate 205*looking for a chop saw*
Reply:Not sure on which one will hold up longest, but I've seen those LIncoln 225's from the 60's, all scratched up and bent, still working strong."A winner isn't someone who doesn't lose, a winner is someone who doesn't quit."
Reply:I have several other welders and I'd never be without my tombstone. It's a workhorse.
Reply:those tombstones are tough machines. with a little tlc it will make you a good machine
Reply:Have had my Lincoln buzzbox for almost as long as I can remember. Never fails. Went to their factory in Cleveland, they still make them the same way. Unbreakable...KbnitI r 2 a perfessional
Reply:The tombstone is a classic!! They look better too. I bet if you checked your local craigslist you'll probably find a good deal.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
Reply:I've never owned the hobart, but I think it speaks volume's when you can look around on craig'slist and find a half dozen or so that have been in someone's dad's, granddad's garage for the last 30 years plus. Those ole red tombstone's are hard to beat.
Reply:I have one tombstone that is so old the red paint is pale orange and Lincoln simply lists it as obsolete and it welds like a dream. I just gave the shiny red one to my son, lol. Both weld well and are tough as an anvil. I've never used the Hobart. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist. |
