HiI am going to buy a Plasma Cutter before the end of this year. I need to cut 1/2 inch aluminum and have narrowed my choice down to two machines, The Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 52 or the Hypertherm Powermax 45. Which one should I get and why? Thanks in advanceJohn
Reply:Both machine's are the best in the market. The only question for me would who will give you the best service and what the consumables cost.Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.
Reply:Check out this site https://www.hypertherm.com/powerfulplasma/The new Powermax45 was in Hypertherm's research labs and reliability labs for over 2 years before it was released to the market. The level of engineering ensures that consumable life, performamnce and reliability will stay with the systems for many years. The Powermax45 is designed and manufactured at Hypertherm's headquarters in Hanover, NH USA.....if you ever get up this way I'll be happy to show off the facility!Jim Colt
Reply:Both mfgs are very good companies. The only two I would buy a plasma from, so you can't go wrong with either. Getting consumables is your only issue.
Reply:Hi John/jrfv,As its been said both Hypertherm and ThermalDynamics are are the best. Before you buy either check around the net for for the best buy on either of the units. You may also want to do a keyword search for hypertherm consumables or thermaldynamics consumables to find out how available they are and get an idea of price.TomCo-Own CNC shop:Miller :1251 plasma cutter, MaxStar 700 TIG/Stick, & XMT 456 Multiprocess Welder.& 2 Hypertherm HPR260's Plasma CutterSorry I had a bad stroke but now I am back. |
