Just purchased a used (very unused) Lincoln Idealarc AC/DC 250 welder for $275.00. The guy didn't use it and said it was in the way and he wanted it moved. So I moved it.  My question: It has combined 75ft. of #2 welding cable. My brochure states 100-200ft. #2 cable for 250A, 30% duty cycle. I thought #1 would be needed to handle this many amps. If I weld at 225 amps my cables do not heat up. Even minor welding at 250A don't affect cables.  What are your thoughts on this.         thanks- tdozerman
