3200Hd, 175, 180 Mig

Im lookng to buy a Lincoln Mig welder.  I'll be welding 20Ga to the most 10Ga steel. Floor Pans on my Hotrod just stuff like that.My Mom and Dad bought me a 100Hd welder but I think its going to be to small, So we are going to take it back and look for a biger welder. We have to keep this under 500$ It woud be better if it was 430$.  I do have a 220 Plug in my shop but my Stick welder is useing that but I can all ways unplug it. 110 woud be a lot better for me sence I'll be taking it to friends houses.    I've been looking at the 3200Hd but its all most the same thing as the 100Hd but with the Gas Kit installd.  I've seen the 180 Mig on Ebay for 300$.  The 175 a lot of people say that woud be a good one but thats over 500$.    I had some people say my 100Hd woud be ok if I got the gas kit for it.What woud you pick?
Reply:i always am afraid ill get too small a machine  regardless of what i think im gonna do i will eventually need more pwoer..my 2 cents that said my first welder is a lincoln 135..but it is  not enough for all the other things i do..
Reply:I had a lincoln 100 for years. It was a very dependable machine, and since most of my welding is usually on 3/16" or less steel, it was perfect. I now have a 175, and I rarely see the benefits of the bigger machine on auto work.It really only comes into play when I get into thicker materials. I wish I still had my 100. I ran gas on it and .023 wire. It was a really good little machine.And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
