I've been mig and flux core welding for about 6 years. I've never had to take a welding test or anything like that I worked for my dad. All I want to know is how can I get on with someone that will work with me so I can begin a career in welding. I'm fascinated by shipbuilding and would like to get into that field but they always want experience how would one go about getting this opportunity to learn.
Reply:I would look into the local community college. They may have a welding program that you can attend in the evenings, while you are still workin for Dad.ATA Welding Technology
Reply:Hi MIllerman so your "fascinated by shipbuilding and would like to get into that field" thats going to be hard to do from Paragould Arkansas unless it is close to the shipping on the mississippi river and you can find a shipbuiler in the area. Otherwise you might have to look elsewhere like Philadelphia PA, Norfolk VA, Bridgeport CT, Portsmouth Maine, Charleston SC, San Diego CA, San Franscisco CA, or basically any large port side city with a shipyard.Co-Own CNC shop:Miller :1251 plasma cutter, MaxStar 700 TIG/Stick, & XMT 456 Multiprocess Welder.& 2 Hypertherm HPR260's Plasma CutterSorry I had a bad stroke but now I am back. |
