Can I power a Miller HF using a Lincoln AC 225? I will be welding aluminum 90% of the time.
Reply:yes you could but you will have only the coarse amp adjustment on the welder250DXMM251MM175225G plus 251D-1
Reply:Is there any way around that?
Reply:the problem is the lincoln power supply which only has coarse amp adjustment . the HF unit can only remote control the output on a power supply with a matching control cord plug250DXMM251MM175225G plus 251D-1
Reply:The Miller HF should have a "intensity" control knob on it. This only controls the arc starting intensity. Will not control amperage settings. Once you set the amperage with the "tombstone" that's what you've got to work with.
Reply:On second thought, look at the back of your High Freq unit. Does it have a multi pin connector for "remote"? If it does, you can attach a remote foot control. This would allow you to control the welding amperage.
Reply:Yes, I failed to mention the foot control. Would that help to control the amps?
Reply:I found a "new in box!!!!!!!"(?) AC 225 tombstone for $165 on ebay...I think I'm gonna buy it.(Home Depot $269) Thanks for the advise! |
