Help With Gap

I just constructed a coffee table out of 1" square tubing(for the legs) and 1x2" steel tubing (for the frame). I pieced it all together and after welding it I realized that there was a 1/8 gap between the 1" tubing and the 1x2" tubing. How can I fill this to make it look good. Possibly Oxy acetylene with a filler rod? Please help!Thanks
Reply:r u showing off or grinding off the welds? what weld process do you have access to?
Reply:I would first investigate the possibility of grinding the end of one of the tubes in the joint to eliminate the gap.  If that is not possible or practical, then slowly build up one side of the gap with weld, doing a little at a time so as not to overheat the metal and burn through it, untill the gap is to your liking, then weld it shut.  If this is a T-joint between the end of one tube and the side of another tube, do your build-up on the side of the tube rather than on the end of the tube, as you will be less likely to burn through the side as the end.  I'm assuming this is relatively thin wall tubing.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
