If I get this welder I have a couple of questions for you guys and gals.First question: I want to know what type of Tig setup I can get for this power source?Second question: What type of Mig/wire feed can I get for this power source? Its an older machine and I don't need anything elaborate. I'm going to attach a pic. Thanks for all the help you can give me. Reply:well first off it isn't really a power source as you are thinking it is. It is a constant current stick machine, and a dang fine one. I have one in my shop that use all of the time. As far as tig goes you have to either run scratch start DC tig or buy a HF box for AC tig, but you still will not be able to vary your amperage as you weld. Since it is constant current and not constant voltage wire feeding is not gonna work unless you use a voltage sensing feeder and I don't think you will care for that ...I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......

Reply:Excellent Machine ! We had 5 of those at the shop I used to work at (laid off friday), and they were great. The ones in that shop hadnt been calbrated in years so you had to weld more by feel than the settings on the machine. I started straight out of school (machines calibrated everey year) and was used to welding within certain heat ranges for rods. When I started in this shop I had some trouble with my welds. but after I was there for a week I had a good handle on it I learned to adjust my heat more by feel.
Reply:I don;t think that I have ever welded on a machine that was calibrated. I have always adjusted the heat until the rod burned like I wanted it to.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:I got one (its forsale) It probably is the most bullet proof product miller ever made. They designed them back in the 50's if I remember right and still build the same machine today with newer sheet metal. Almost every high school welding shop had these welders. They are a great stick machine and thats just about it. I have run my miller extreme 12 wire feeder off it. But its not real crazy about it, even with fluxcord. Which is how I ended up blowing $3500 on a killer deal demo miller 350MPA.
