Any help on vertical mig welding on a miller 400 440 volt with 0.045 solid core wire.
Reply:Set heat a little lower than you would for flat position. Point torch slightly up. Start at bottom of joint and work up. As you move up, move the torch slightly side to side within the puddle. Hold momentarily at the sides and zip accross the middle. Holding the sides helps the toes fill and zipping accross the middle keeps the middle from humping up. Move up in small increments.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:Pulsed GMAW is far superior for VU GMAW applications. If you are stuck with rectifying power sources, perhaps VD may be more suited. |
