Hi, I have a Miller 130, and was wondering if this can be welded. This is an old car restore, so I would like to just fix the original. Attached Images
Reply:My first thought would be "NO" It will be out of balance if welded and then the flexing would probably damage it again anyway.A radiator is way more than a fan....That resembles a Ford fan BTW.
Reply:The blades are stainless & main body of fan is steel. That is a junk fan. It will come apart on you welded or not! Restoring an old car? Wouldn't want it to come apart & go through a hood that is by far worth more than a fan!! Or possibly coming out the bottom & hitting someone!Just my opinion but I'd rather find me another fan!Flash
Reply:absolutly not ! another mechanic was tuning an engine and holding the throttle reved up . The fan came apart and hit him in the throat. he will never tune anything again . he sat down and waited to die nothing could be done to help... never weld on a fan.Life is tuff,so be sharp lincoln sp 100 cutmaster101 miller bobcat miller 250 mig $thousands in snapon |
