I'm looking to purchase my first welder and was considering the Lincoln K1170 AC225 stick welder. I haven't done any welding since high school shop class but I have some projects I want to do ie.. new fire box on my BBQ pit, bumper on my tractor and various others. So I figured this was a good excuse to buy a new tool. Any opinions on the Lincoln would be greatly appreciated. Great site!
Reply:For a first welder, this will serve you well. I've used one of these many times over the years and they always come through. It is a stick welder and AC only, but will weld serious projects. You won't go wrong buying this one. Reply:Thanks Gizzard, I'm looking forward to making some sparks, but as a former electrician I'm used to that.
Reply:Yep they gave you some good advice!! That Lincoln is a very good choice for what you have in mind.
