i bought an sa 200 a few month back and decided to replace the water pump after i noticed the bearing went out on it. pulled it off put the new one on as well as a new belt and noticed that the altenator wasnt aligning right. i started to look closer and noticed that maybe its the bracket for the altenator. anyone have any info on where to get a new one or can i just make my own??? pm me if you have any info greatly appreciated

Reply:also do i need a long belt and from what year of chevy for the bracket?
Reply:im in need of the one that mounts to the motor.
Reply:dg09us, denrep didn't say in his original alternator retrofit post what year Chevy six-banger that bracket came from and probably didn't know as it came on a used unit he picked up at a shop. Having seen them in the past myself I would guess '70's era into the '80's. He reused the original generator pulley with a spacer to get the belt lined back up and may have been able to use the same belt but I'm not sure.Post #20 - http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...ght=alternatorMM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
