Laser welding doubt

Hi all..I am new to the world of welding forum.. I would like to know about laser welding... I am from india.. here we are using conventional methods for welding..i would like to know what are the things needed to start laser welding...

Reply:The problem with google is that a search under 'laser welding' would throw up thousands and thousands of sites.So ranmahs found a site populated by a bunch of welders and very politely asked for some guidance.No libraries in India?
Reply:Well Scott,I can see we're not going to get along.  If for no other reason than your admitted disdain (immigrant thread) for Republicans.  Guess you could call me a "dyed in the wool Conservative".  Some may even call me a "Redneck".  One thing's for sure, no matter what you call me, I have no problem voicing my opinion.My "curt" answer to the question asked here was based on not only this thread, but also on the OP's other question regarding laser welding loaded projectiles.  If you think that a BS question like that doesn't make the hair on the back of my neck stand up, then you just don't understand this old geezer.I also have done a fair amount of international travel and have been to India several times (my son was just there last year on business).  Your observations and mine vary greatly.  To me, it was one of the filthiest countries I've ever visited (can't grasp their adoration of cows).  Although the people appear outwardly friendly, I always got the feeling that they had their "hand out".  As far as general manners, ask any airline stewardess which nationallity is the most "outwardly rude" and have the least control of their children.Your comment about how "ingenious" the Indians are also doesn't hold much water in my book.  The fact that you feel that they can "make something from nothing" doesn't mean much either.  Let me assure you that the Viet Cong (remember that little skirmish--quite a few of your countrymen died there) could make "something from nothing".  Unfortunately, many of their "inventions" were weapons of destruction designed to kill.In another thread, the same OP asked for information on how to laser weld loaded projectiles.  He attempted to "mask" the real question by defining it as an "aerospace" question.   To that I call BS.To the naive poster who would attempt to "justify" the question with a "maybe he's a fab shop owner looking to get into a different field" all I've got to say is "I've got some waterfront property in Arizona I'd like to sell".  If I was a business owner looking to expand my horizons, I sure as He11 wouldn't be looking for advice on an internet forum.Maybe I'm over reacting to a simple query, or MAYBE, just MAYBE it's just a "sixth sense" developed over many years of work in military special operations.  One thing you can bet the farm on though is that NSA is probably reviewing the comment as we speak.  The combination of "laser welding" and "loaded projectile" will trip a red flag.Finally, just how in heck do you KNOW the OP is really from India?Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc.
