work abroad

im am currently working as a self taught mig welder fabricating quarry machinery for SANDVIC  in northern ireland. i want to travel to canada to live and work but am unsure of the fastest route to or even the actual quailifications i need so i can start work immediately any help would be great thanks
Reply:There was another question like this not long ago.   There was a couple guys from Canada talking and im pretty sure they said work was pretty slow.

Reply:Not sure you really want to hear this but works sucks everywhere and what little work exists as far as jobs has plenty of competition up against you.  I would recommend getting some proper training! Ask if your current employer is willing to pay for such training. Reply:@ deery, you might want to look at getting your Red Seal cert. if you're serious about coming over.http://www.red-seal.ca/Site/index_e.shtml just don't even think about using it in Quebec. (b*st*rds, here don't recognize it in this province ) and what i'm hearing is Alberta is starting to slow down some also. might want to look up in the Fort McMurray  area if you don't mind "camp" life. but if you're self-taught, you're going to be needing some CWB certification to be recognized. http://www.cwbgroup.org/cwb/
