We have newly started Submerged arc welding process. Please educate me how to select the right welding consumable for different base material. What is the criteria for deciding wire and flux for a particular base material?
Reply:I suggest you start by reviewing the latest edition of AWS A 5.17. You should also review the web sites of various suppliers such as Lincoln, ESAB and Sandvik.
