i bought a 185 about a week ago , just getting a chance to hook it up today.just a quick question and i hope im wrong ,but when taking the foot pedal out of the box,the machine has 8 pin openings but the plug to the foot pedal only has 7 pins is this right , you guys with the 185 machine is that right .cn some check with a 185 machine. i have a friend coming from long island to staten island and i hope i dont have a problem here .i guess he will no once we try to tig.i dont no anything about tig,but he is pro.and hate to see him make trip for nothing. thanks

Reply:I asked the same question recently with my new TA185. The #1 pin is for the earth ground ground=foot pedal.Do you like your new machine?Took me a couple of hours to learn the sequence panel diagram. But pretty much got it figured out now! Did you get the pedal with the machine?Good luck.
Reply:Check this rig up! I did try it out through a water hose reduced with a valve for flow. It really keeps things from getting too hot! I could hold the torch head with my bare fingers after welding for 5 minutes or so for starters. For what it's worth I will hook it up through a oil/water cooler with a fan/submersible pump in a tank of antifreeze. I am curious.Did you ever price a water cooler? Attached Images |
