Gas Bottle wall mount

How I am making a bracket to secure two gas bottles to my wall.It is a good project for someone looking for welding/fabricating practice. You will do some measuring,cutting,drilling,grinding,jigging & of course welding. I am just going to post pics as I progress w/some info, if you have any questions post them here and I or someone else can anwser.Overall view showing magnetic squares holding parts for tack welding. One side showing how I like to position a part for a 'corner' weld. Instead of mounting vertical piece flush with end I like to come in a skosh. Reply:Just a word of caution if you're not acquainted with using those magnetic corner fixturing devices.  They will blow the arc all over on you, and when MIG welding can drive you nuts.  The best procedure is to tack the weldment and get the magnets away from the weld area.Of course, they are fun to hang on the back of something somebody else has to weld, especially if they don't know the magnet is there.Appreciation Gains You Recognition-
Reply:I went back out and did alittle more work  Some beads the good & bad  -My old shop was smaller but warm & quiet + level floor -One of the cheapest ways to get some decent square footage if your not a senator or lawyer and must work for a living.- I discovered that magnets will melt before I learned about arc blow- but you are right handy as tacking jigs.PS. Reply:Broadband, YUP, I got a whole 38,666 goin tonight here, must be the phone lines are cold cause when she's really whippin I can get a whole 40k.That tank rack is makin me feel bad about a bent mower blade and a bolt thru the wall.  If I was ambitious I'd head out there and weld up a fancy rack.  Good thing I ain't an ambitious fellow.  Come to think of it, my mower blade's been holding those tanks for 20 years.  Rule #1, if it works, don't fix it.Appreciation Gains You Recognition-
