I'm looking to ask questions of a metal weld artist/sculpter on their thoughts to the career choice they made and what inspires them.

Reply:I really don't know any places to ask questions but I met a guy once, his name was Charlie Lucas, he was a black guy and he was pretty good, the trick he told me, was to get your name known, especially rich people....so you can make alot of money and they can tell their friends to get your name out there. He is in a few artists books....we help build this man on a motorcycle and a man with a saxaphone. What he done was take total junk(leaf springs, ring gears, etc.) and make this stuff. I asked he how much they were worth and he said about 10 grand a piece, after all, it's only worth what someone will pay for it.
Reply:Thanks viparfang!  I think that's a nice sounding price to me.  I guess I have to learn to be a schmoozer but I sounds like it will pay off well.   I'm going to search the web for your friend and see what I come up with.
