Here are some photos of the finished Bar Stool Racer I built. It took a week to get it painted and reassembled.Took it out for a test run and got lots of looks and laughs yesterday.FYI I am going to be putting up a webite in the net few days called www.barflyracers.com with a help fourm and a place to post your bar stool pics.I wanted to do this because my adventure building the bar stool was very difficult because there was a lack of information when trying to buld it and it took a lot longer and I ended up buying parts I did not need.Enjoy! Reply:The project turned out a lot better than I thought. The red paid and diamond plate really topped it off.If you notice I also added a consumable skid plate to the back in case you drag the back from pulling a wheeling. The 6.5 hp motor loves to pull the front end up. Attached Images

Reply:Thanks! The bar stool turned out much better than I expected it to. I am going to have to start selling them..I would like to make a suggestion. Put as big of a motor as you can. They are much more fun when you are passing up cars on teh street.. lol!Build a Barstool Racer at BarFlyRacers.com!

Reply:Thanks! I checked out the vid and it was pretty cool. That is a fast bar stool. Now I am going to bave to build an all out racing bar stool.MikeBuild a Barstool Racer at BarFlyRacers.com!
Reply:That looks really good! The only thing is though the footboards seem a little low to me, I'm not sure I'd want them between the tires like that. ???
Reply:malich, how well do those brakes work? Are you pleased witht them? I used hydraulic disc brakes on my BSR and they worked great, but were a pain. I have a mechanical caliper like yours ordered for my wagon, but if its not going to work, i can still go the other way.-Monkey-1http://www.studmonkeyracing.com [email protected]
Reply:The brakes work pretty good. I would like to try either another type of mechinical brake to compare or go to hydraulic next time.MikeBuild a Barstool Racer at BarFlyRacers.com!
Reply:Rusted, The foot boards do nto interfear with anythng. I made them inside the tire width so if I got up on one side they would not hit. They are at the same height as the frame. I have driven the bar stool over al kinds of terrain and have not had any problem with the foot boards. My only problem I noticed was I took it for a drive through some think grass and it just slowed the bar stool down a bit because of the low ground clearance. But then again it is not a four wheeler so it did not bother me.Build a Barstool Racer at BarFlyRacers.com!

Reply:Malich,Did your wife suffer any, it sounds like she was having almost as much fun as you?Bruce The Welding ChefLincoln Weld-Pack 3200 NORWELD StickStanford Hill Farm
Reply:Bruce,I missed her by a couple of feet. I have been trying to get her to ride it but she refuses. I think my wife likes it as much as she hates it. She has never known anyone that can actually build stuff and have fun so it is new to her. I am glad I could get her to video it for me.MikeBuild a Barstool Racer at BarFlyRacers.com! |
