I know it's one of those questions that have tons of variables.  But I'm looking for a ball park figure.  Like will I need to fill a tank every so many spools or before a spool runs out.  I'm thinking of a small tank like 40cuft or smaller. Thanks

Reply:Consider two tanks, run on # one and # 2 is a backup, keeping one filled at all times.

Reply:I find that CO2 tanks last longer then C25 for the same size tanks.Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.
Reply:Lots of ways to skin that cat. Balance is what you need to consider, what size best fits your requirements, how often you weld, how convenient or inconvenient it is to get to your LWS to refill, how much $$$ you can tie-up in tanks, the cost to refill a small tank is more than a larger tank? Plan B, one midsize tank and one small tank for insurance.Plan C, one midsize tank and in a pinch fall back to Flux core.Plan D, use Flux core and no gas required.Plan E, send the work out.PS, I assume this is for hobby use, what local restrictions on compressed gas storage at home?Last edited by transit; 11-11-2009 at 12:00 PM.
