Does anyone know any states or places that you can buy or order o-rings etc. for rebuilding oxy-acet regulators.    If not, do you know what needs to be done as far as getting licenced to obtain these parts.     I've been having problems w/ the ones I've been having rebuilt as for as the oxygen maintaining a consistant outward pressure.
Reply:Occasionally there are new kits and/or new parts for regulators on eBay. It's not something that is always there. Looking twice or three times a week for a month and you'll find some. Other than that I don't know what to tell you. Quality of ALL services have gone south in the last 10 years. They'd rather sell you a new one at exhorbinant prices than fix existing pieces correctly.Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.                                         -Cree Indian ProverbSA 200 LincolnVictor Torches

Reply:I used to buy at airgas but have stayed very clear of them. Just never liked how they treated me and there prices WOW. But if you find a Good LWS hold onto them and support them and they will take good care of you.Millermatic DVIMillermatic 251Older buzz box Cheap 120 welder
Reply:Try www.atlweldingsupply.com    Pretty sure they used to carry reg. rebuild kits.    If you don't have 2 stage regulators they are going to creep some as the tank pressure drops anyway.  sometimes all they need is a good cleaning.    Be exceptionally careful when fooling with an ox reg.   You don't want even a hint of oil getting in one.  ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS do a final clean up with alcohol & wear nitrile or latex gloves to reassemble.IF IT WORKS, DON'T FIX IT2 Lincoln CV-300 / LN-7 GMALinde-VI 253,400 & 450 w/MIG35 feedersCNC Table with Oxweld O/A & Hypertherm 1250G3Lincoln Ranger GXT 250Hobart-MicroWire 300ESAB Heliarc 161ESAB-Mobilemaster 2 CC/CV Feeders& more

Reply:Sir, I have a 35-year-old Victor SuperRange I bought from my friend and Victor exec, who re-designed the mier for that line. A few years ago my acetylene regulater,s diaphragm locked up after an extended period of non-use. This year, under identical circumstances, my oxygen reg has done the same thing--won't close again. I was planning on taking this one in for repair as well, but I can't help wonder if there may be an oldtimer's trick to freeing her up again. I'm disabled now, and funds are TIGHT! Any ideas?

Reply:Thank you very much for your reply, Millman. I've never cracked open a regulator and am skittish about screwing something up inside. Seems that leaving the diaphragm alone for a few years--not compressed--makes 'em stick. Thanks again for the reply.
