I need some ideas on a cool looking finish for some sheet metal. I will be using 20 gauge or so, cold roll or maybe hot roll. I build furniture and these will be panels about 12" x 12" Inlay on the top of a table. They don't really need to be smooth but I need something with some cool variation. Here is a picture of some nightstands I did awhile back. some concept but the panels are copper. Maybe this isn't the right website to ask about this so if anyone knows where I should look, Let me know. Thanks for the help. Attached Images
Reply:Cup head grinder wheel. Use a SS wheel on SS or aluminum. A wheel with bronze/ brass bristle will color steel a bit when it embeds, and patina will make it stand out differently on the material. Clear coat with laquer, and go.And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
