Reply:I like the desk idea.  I made some big angle brackets from an old bed framd and did something similar with solid core doors.  It has become my most used room in the house.  You've been putting that welder to good use.  Who...I mean, what are you hiding in that headboard picture  ?Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.

Reply:i would like thatI lived in BC and saw them on a lot of tourists trucks from Alberta.  I wanted one just to be a lil differnent.  Put on it on the bobus and hehe.  I figured folks would go wtf is that?   Then theyd ask about something Ive done or somewhere Ive been.  Its cool like that.  I keep stickers like my SeaBees, and the POW/MIA and I have a stickum of I LOVE TEXAS and god bless the troops.  I recently aquired from work a stickum of Armor Our Troops.   They only gave me one cause id like to have given one to my sister...her hubby is leaving for Kuwait next month.    Oh the stickums are the magnetic ribbons.  Started out as yeller support our troops,  coined after the persian gulf war when we all wore lil yeller ribbons in support.  Never knew why the yeller.  I thought yeller meant cowardess.  I dint think we were too cowardly.  I thought we were doing great until told to return and end pursuit.  What a shame.IF it Catches...Let it Burn
Reply:Ribbons have replaced badges. Various causes have ribbon days and they nominate colours. HIV charities often use pink ones - I've always found it odd that they typecast themselves. On St Patrick's Day, I saw lots of green ones. I've recently seen people wearing orange ones but I don't know what the cause was. I heard about a yellow ribbon day that was supposed to be a day where young people could ask for help or something like that.There was that song 'Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree'. The character in it was being released from prison and he was saying to his girl that if she still wanted him she should tie a yellow ribbon to the tree outside their house. He'd come past on the bus, and if there was no ribbon, he;d stay on the bus. Of course, when he came past there were a hundred ribbons on the tree - awww shucks.In a few years, ribbons will go out of favour because they're overused.
