Reply:Well! How about first you tell us a little bit about yourself and the type of welding you are going to be doing!A good name is usually reflective of the business or the person who owns the business.#1. If you don't like what I wrote, or if it offends you, then don't read it!#2. I am living life the way I see fit, if you don't like the way I'M living, tough sh**!

Reply:Ken here ya gowell we work out of a 20'x20' foot garage i have both a tig and stick welder with a mig on the way, drill press bench grinder , bench vise, 4x6 welding tables on caster wheels with locks so you can move it outside to use it when stick welding. welder is a lincoln electric precission tig 185 nascar editioin with beer holder on top, and also linc ac/dc 225 stick welder. stuff we have done, a couple of ornamental tables, slight mods to trailers or cars, piecework for larger shops, repair railings, and 5 years of experience at various welding companies as a welder fitter, from a sheet metal shop to structural shops, so we are trying to branch out on our own with a catchy name, we want to make business cards and get them out there, so even a logo would be good

Reply:Just an opinion, but I don't think your customers are going to care much whether you have a clever name. It should be simple, easy to spell, and should suggest the way they think of your company.Quality Welding and Fabrication[Your Name] Welding and FabricationMontreal Welding and FabricationIt used to be that it was advantageous to have an alphabetically favored name, like A1 or AAA -- but that was in the days of printed Yellow Pages. Now -- assuming you want to use the web for your marketing -- it's important to have something that's impossible to spell wrong. People write down phone numbers, but they will not write down web site names. So you want a name that resists misspelling.Jack OlsenMy garage website

Reply:I went real simple with mine. JREYNOLDS WELDING, I wanted people to know who they were dealing with etc. My logo was TM. And now most people around here see it on the couple trucks I have and know who I am without even seeing the rest so I started putting that logo on jobs we complete and compactors we service. Nice and simple has worked for me. I specialize in trash container and compactor/baler repairs in my area so we do more service work now than welding but it all works. My wife is a marketing genius with cards and flyers, she is a purchaser for the company she works for and deals with companys everyday. So she had a good idea what people look for and want and I must say it is working out great for me(3 yrs strong) Attached Images |
