So ive been through the owners manuals and played with the settings a little bit, but I am wondering if anyone has some good links where I can find some more detailed imformation about how the axcess 450 w/RMD works and how to best set it up and fine tune the programs.  Millers website is less helpful that one would think.Specifically I am looking to run it on .065 stainless tube and sheet, mostly butt joints with some gaps.  I had it set on RMD with .035 316 wire and tri-mix gas (RMD seemed to only have 90/10 HE as an option) arc control was between 15-30 and arc length at 35.  WFS 130-150Have we all gone mad?
Reply:Interesting.  My 350P only lists tri-mix as the gas for stainless.  With .035 wire and 16ga material, the chart lists 150ipm, arc length 50 and arc control 25.I realize we have vastly different machines, but the pulse programs in both seem to have similar controls.  With mine,  increasing the arc length causes the arc to become softer and hotter and the puddle wetter and the bead flatter.  Increasing the arc control, the arc becomes wider and softer and the puddle wetter and the bead flatter.  Increasing either of them is fine for flat and horizontal positions, but increasing too much can lead to loss of control of the puddle in the vertical and overhead positions.Hopefully that helps you out a little!MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:Another question here, ive been getting some horrible spatter with either the pulsed or accu-pulse programs.  .035 er-70 c5 gas, WFS from 300-500, arc control 40-55Ive tried moving the volt sensing lead around as I figure its not getting a good reading, but nothing really seems to help.  Ground is good, didnt grind off the scale but that shouldnt be an issue I thought.Have we all gone mad?
Reply:Even more interesting is the fact that the pulse programs for the Optima 304 do not show a program for using tri-mix at all.  Nor does it have a program for He.Only choices for .035 Stainless are 98Ar/2CO2 or 95Ar/5CO2.Haven't run the axcess so can't be much help there.Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc.

Reply:Grind off the mill scale...If you're getting spatter, it's not burning off the wire hot/fast enough to maintain the spray arc.  This could be a bad ground issue as  you suspect.  If it's not a ground issue and the metal is clean and gas supply good, then try increasing the arc length or arc control setting, which increases the voltage compared to the wire speed so the heat of the arc can pinch off and spray the droplets from the end of the wire before the wire reaches the puddle.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:i am really surprised by this ...nice effort and I dont think tri-mix is recommended for spray transfer of stainless, I thought it was mainly limited to short-circut. Again I doubt you would see a program for He unless it was meant for robotics.steel bar steel supplier

Reply:http://www.millerwelds.com/resources...-A106B-Axcess/Doesn't really offer settings but what is interesting is that they mention they just had to have some one adjust the machine while welding"“You could read the manual,” says Vincent, “but the best thing to do is have someone turn the control knobs while you’re welding. Everyone here was used to setting voltage and amperage with conventional MIG. To take the confusion out learning Accu-Pulse, you need to experience the results of Arc Adjust and Arc Control rather than just reading about them.”"Ed Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge
