I once did a rotary kiln for calcium carbonate it was nine feet in diameter and twenty feet long, The welding took a long time and then I had to line it with 6 inches of refractory cement. it than unloaded into a rotary cooler to shatter the rock. boy that was a long time ago!. Reply:Welder.Man ya know i didnt ask what it was gonna be used for, I never think about askin i usually just put em together anyhow the inner and outer pipe total length are 40Ft getting that 8inch inside the 10Inch and centered and the bolting orientation of the flanges was a pain though.
Reply:Looks like a chiller/boiler pipe for a large climate control system. We have gobs of pipes this size leading to and from our AC units on buildings in Atlanta. I guess the same principle applies to pretty much anything that is meant to carry heat to or from something...oh, nice welds, also...very good job.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:You can sure make the stainless shine on those heavy wall fittings. Looks good..
Reply:You could use that heat exchanger as an alcohol still. Just run the vapors from your boiler to the inside, and city water on the outside, and voila, an alcohol still!! (whatever you do, DON'T DRINK THAT ALCOHOL - it still needs to have the poisons removed)
Reply:This is all m/s and used er70s-2 filler on internal fittings and esab7100 ultra on the rest Oh wouldnt that be one heck of a still 80 ft total length |
