Reply:yeah I know its the only one, I just want to know if its any good- the 211 with the spoolmate 100, or is it the equivilent to a home depot lincoln weldpack100? the spoolmate 100 compared to the next size spoolgun up which is like 800 bucks that can be ran off the 251 too much money for me, but I don't want to waste 300 bucks on the spoolmate 100 if its junk

I have the 3035, a very similar gun. For alum it's great. For steel, it's nice to be able to load say .023 and not F with the big spool of wire in the machine for some quick sheet metal work, or pop in some SS to do something quick. The spoolgun is bulky and awkward compared to the standard gun, but with some practice you get used to it. Also it's nice when I need to get to places that I just can't reach with my larger machine, since mine spoolgun has a longer cord. Things like adding D rings to the ladder rack or fixing the expanded mesh on the window protector. Before I'd have to muscle the whole machine into the bed to work, Now all I do is get next to the truck and pass up the spoolgun.I don't think I have any scrap 1/8" alum right now, but I'll look tomorrow. If I do and the wind is calm, I'll try to run a few beads with it.
