Hi everyone I have asked a similar question in my introduction but was advised to post here as well more people might see it and have one. I am desperately looking for a manual for a Castomig 180 the machine is 20 years old but still an excellent bit of kit it is all in working order but being a beginner I need to know what does what and what goes where please see pics attached. Many thanks Chris Attached Images
Reply:try this: www.castolin.comthey still in businessi did a quick check on google you need to contact them with numbers off machine hope that helped a little but shouldn t be hard to figure out pretty basic machineidealarc 250/250 ac-dc tigidealarc 250/250 ac-dc tig #2 used for sticklincoln sp100hh125dual arbor grinder polisher30 yrs of hand tools52 pitch blocks 6p-26prake gauge -pitch gaugeG&D prop repair 918-207-6938Hulbert,okla 74441
Reply:I have been in touch with them already and the machine is 20 years old and they no longer have any manuals for it but on demonstration to me it worked very well and is reputed to be able to do another 20 (LOL) so please if anyone has a manual tucked away somewhere let me have a copy I will of course bear any expense incurred . Many thanks Chris
Reply:Try this Hobart manualhttp://www.hobartwelders.com/om/0900/o925b_hob.pdfIt works pretty much the same way and explains how to set up the Wire tension and connecting to Shielding gas.Just keep the Wire Speed knob in the Middle- you can play with Spot and Stitch later. You could even try the suggested settings on Wire speed and Voltage selection, may get you in the ball park. With Tapped machines you can only change the Voltage while NOT welding but you can adjust the wire speed while welding to help get you to the correct setting. Reply:Not sure if this will help Chris but I did a seach of the entire web again using a Internet Jump Station and only thing I could locate even close was http://www.scribd.com/doc/20604926/M...-MantenimientoManual de Soldadura de MantenimientoAs soldas Castolin+Eutectic de brasagem sao geralmente multo fluidas ... 180 - 200 180·275 250 - 350. I think you'll need a translation program or be able to read the laguage.Co-Own CNC shop:Miller :1251 plasma cutter, MaxStar 700 TIG/Stick, & XMT 456 Multiprocess Welder.& 2 Hypertherm HPR260's Plasma CutterSorry I had a bad stroke but now I am back.

Reply:Not sure it will help unless he know Spanish or has a translation program. But even looking at the pictures in that 123 pages could help. Here's a link to the Internet Jump Station thhat I usehttps://netfiles.uiuc.edu/ejk/jumps.htmlLast edited by specter; 01-12-2010 at 04:07 PM.Co-Own CNC shop:Miller :1251 plasma cutter, MaxStar 700 TIG/Stick, & XMT 456 Multiprocess Welder.& 2 Hypertherm HPR260's Plasma CutterSorry I had a bad stroke but now I am back.

Reply:Yes I have but it may have been me because I am searching without the know-how but while going through the pages it did not mention the model I need which should be the same in any language being a name I would have thought. That appears to me to look like the more modern machines that are on the companies website in English but I appreciate your effort, keep em coming. Thanks Chris
Reply:That is a manual about Welding/processes/electrodesReally, the machine is simple like I mentioned.Choose a Voltage Tap 1,2,3,4 ....and adjust wire speed.Ed Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge
Reply:I take it the voltage tap you are referring to is the inductance plugs on the bottom left of the machine shown in pics marked max-med-min and for thin metal I would need to use the minimum setting is that correct Thanks Chris
Reply:The Voltage taps are selected by the Switch with the 1,2,3,4,5 & 6 Numbers. The Inductance Holes are something different but it does play a role in how the machine performs.http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=36340&page=2Transit's post helps explain that part.Ed Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge

Reply:If you look at the wire feed pic you will see the gas hose below the wire feed going to something which I assume must be what you mean Chris
Reply:It looks like there is a Solenoid in there and a Pic of the back of the machine would help to locate where to connect the gas hose.but since he is getting a Hard Copy of the manual all will be explained Ed Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge |
