Hello forum members, I am new to the site, Ive been looking around the site, kinda getting used to it.  First I would like to give a big thumbs up to everybody here that contributes, there is tons of good advice, and the wealth of talent / diverse backgrounds is amazing.  I am glad to be a new coming member and look forward to posting.  A little about me.. Ive been Owner/operator of my welding business for about three and half years,  I currently work a 40 hour a week job to food on the table, my business is just on the side for now, (puts toys in the garage).  Ive added some old pictures from when i first started doing little jobs as they met the size requirements, I will post some of my more up to date stuff when i resize the pictures.
Reply:here are the picsthe pistons are door handles i did for a autobody paint shop.  the spiderweb security bars were at the same place. the spiderweb chair is my current welding chair its a s-10 coil spring on an old chair base. makes picking up stuff off the floor really easy on the back. Reply:That handrail got me to thinking....Do you guys build this stuff offsite and then install it onsite? Or do you build it onsite and just protect the ground and the surroundings from weld spatter? I am so afraid of building offsite and then showing up to install and then it doesn't fit....just my luck!Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v  Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain
Reply:Joker the handrail was built in my shop.  I set the anchors in the concrete, measured them about thirty thousand times. tack'd everything up, took it for a test fit it and did the final welds back at the shop.  If for some reason I have to weld on-site in an area that could be spoiled by spatter I just lay down wet/damp welding blankets.  I did learn a good lesson on one job that i'll never forget!!!Grinder sparks remotely close to glass = unhappy  customers and money out of my pocket for not watching where the sparks are going.
