I have an older HF-251D-1 HIGH FREQUENCY BOX TIG UNIT, and was wondering what power source would be the best for me. Im new to tig welding, just have mig experience, and want an ac/dc unit to weld alum no bigger than 1/4, stainless and thin wall chrome moly. I also would like it to be single phase 220 for home shop use. Im looking to get some thing for arround $500, Ive looked at some budget Miller ac/dc arc power supplys and was wondering if they would be ok ? Any help with this would be great.
