Reply:good stuff.. i love weldments......zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Nice work! looks like a nice workshop you got in there...Well....returning to the welding parameters.....Do you have any weld of yours using those parameters that is cut so we can see the penetration? Monday I´ll take one of mine using 3 diferent parameters. Could you get some shots of yours? My Babies: HF Drill pressHF Pipe Bender3   4.5" Black and Decker angle grindersLincoln Electric PROMIG 175that´s it!

Reply:I kno I kno, I´m the one who has the least experience in here and might be talking $hit....butttt I´m trying to learn from you guys  Just wanna see the penetration with your parametersMy Babies: HF Drill pressHF Pipe Bender3   4.5" Black and Decker angle grindersLincoln Electric PROMIG 175that´s it!
Reply:i don't think your talking sh!t i think your talking what you were show en .in my line of welding i have a code to go by so if it say's use wire X and gas Y with volts at Z then its up to me to make it work if i had my way i would weld in spray transfer or tig it like the zap dose just not as good,i have learned to weld in different process ,most welders i meet only know how to weld in one,it's all goodChuckASME Pressure Vessel welder

Reply:Finally Could get some pics....Here they are....They show 4 welds....all on 1/8 tube with 1/8 square tube...From Mig to TIG, you will recognize which one is TIG....1st. 18.5 volts and 160 FPS....(what chopper uses I think)2nd. 22 volts and 250 FPS...(Lincoln recommended)3rd. 27 volts and 300 FPS (what I use when butt welding 1/8 wall)4rth. TIG 120 amps, straight Ar, 1/8 70PSI mild steel. Please excuse the uglyness of my welds...I did everything in about 10 mins cause I didn´t have time today and really wanted to check this out. As you can see, in first weld you will notice that tube has NO or almost no penetration, what is melted is the metal of the wire....of course this attaches to the tube and to the square tube (base)....NOTICE all welds have below it a flashy line...this was done with my pocket knife to see if they were really "sticked" together....What do you guys think? Reply:last one....please excuse the uglyness...almost no preparation time....ohh btw,...all its .035 wire...with AR/ CO2 mix....I got this info wrong...I said I only use CO2...but those were some old tanks that were unused....from far ago to now we use the mix  Attached ImagesMy Babies: HF Drill pressHF Pipe Bender3   4.5" Black and Decker angle grindersLincoln Electric PROMIG 175that´s it!
Reply:Engloid:Typically, with ASME pressure vessels, pressure boundaries must be full penetration. You can achieve this by welding both sides, with a double-V, back gouging, or whatever you want. What I'm getting at is that penetration can be as dependent on the fit up as it can the amperage used.yup that's is right ,but not on all fittings or couplings and you need good fusion Engloid:One thing I'm wondering...is why the inspector's not busting somebody's balls for welding without knowing your amperage. How do you know if you're welding within the parameters of the WPS?well the amp's and wire speed run hand in hand at lest that what i have been told over the years ,i cant weld and read my amp Gage at the same time so ill get some one to look at it for me, and this suff is low pressure .elvergon . i have 2 problems with what i see 1, your welding 1/8 wall tube you r fillet's look to big 2, you only got full penetration on the round ,now I'm not knocking you or your welds .I'm late for workChuckASME Pressure Vessel welder
