Reply:I found an article about water coolers on eBay that was written by arc-zone.Item number 6 recommends against using auto anti-freeze.It's an article someone wrote, so take it for what its worth (if its helpful to you)-Razer
Reply:An Anti-Freeze water mix will not cool as well as 100% water.  I'm not sure if it will cause problems in your cooler or not.Ironheart...Beat it to fit, paint it to match
Reply:that what Ive been using for many years and have not had any problemsbut thanks for the tipChuckASME Pressure Vessel welder
Reply:I was talking to the Miller tech support yesterday and he said the they (miller) has a coolant specifically for this.  miller low conductivity coolant Sold in cases of four 1-gallon recyclable plastic bottles. Miller coolants contain a base of ethylene glycol and deionized water to protect against freezing to -37°F(-38°C) or boiling to 227°F(108°C). Also contains a compound that resists algae growth.
Reply:just as long as it works i say "way to go" ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:I have an aluminum tank I built over 30 years ago with a bronze gear pump mounted on the bottom.  Had to put spring loaded ball bypass on it because it was swelling up my cooling hose.  Been working great since then.  50% distilled water and the rest antifreeze.  It holds five gallons.  One time while doing some heavy aluminum over a period of a couple of hours, it got pretty warm.
Reply:i was looking at the agruiculter pumps but most were 12V, is your 12V if so how are you powering it?? i looked into small chargers but adding them to the $$ of the pump and you are abouve a standerd $100 pump if you get a charger strong enough to run the pump? so what did you go with to power the 12V if thats what you have summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:bike battery and i only need 4.5 amp i could not find 110 pump that was not way over pricedChuckASME Pressure Vessel welder

Reply:At the last employer, we ran 30 plasma welding stations on de-ionized water, as recommended by Thermal Arc.  This was inside a factory, so freezing was not an issue and antifreeze was not needed.  The de-ionized water was important to minimize conductivity in the water which would tend to electrically accelerate corrosion of the power cable and torch.  The newer Ultima plasma welding system by Thermal Arc included a device that monitored the conductivity of the coolant (deionized water) and provided a warning when it needed replacement.  The Ultima also has a bag of de-ionizing material in the tank.  Don't know what this stuff is or where to get it.This link from Thermal Arc discusses the conductivity issue and their "special" propylene glycol coolants.http://www.thermadyne.com/uplFiles/p...0Bulletins.pdf
Reply:Don't know anything about de-ionized water but distilled water is 100% pure and you can get it at any grocery store.  Just make sure it says distilled.
Reply:i got the pump from NORTHERN TOOL+EQUIPMENTitem#342811-1703later im going to run it off a transformer(battery charger) but im still working on it so the battery will doChuckASME Pressure Vessel welder
Reply:Chopper5;According to this (pdf warning), it would appear that the weldcraft torch uses UNF fittings.  Specifically,7/8" UNF LH5/8" UNF LH5/8" UNF RHWhere did you get female versions of those fittings, or how did you attach the torch's hoses/cables to the cooler?  I think McMaster-Carr let me down  Thanks.
Reply:FWIW; i got my female fittings at my LWS only place i could find the reverse thred in the right size.i think they were like $4 each. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:i got my fittings from my welding supyler and made my left hand to right handby silver soldering a left hand to a right hand fitting the left hand fitting are brass F/F 3/8 i got four left hand and one 3/8 brass pipe nippel that i cut in halfif i rember ill get you the P/N for the L/H fittingsChuckASME Pressure Vessel welder
Reply:Hi, thanks for the responses. This whole thing (below) just dawned on me a little bit late, but I might as well mention the solution...It just occurred to me that water blocks are available for the torches (making a tig out of a stick, and so on), so... here we go, a water/power block for the wp18.  They also have blocks for other torches.Earlier, I had looked at Airgas's site and found some fittings that looked close. At that time, I had not seen the pdf for the torch, and was unsure of the exact fitting size. At this point I don't really care what the UNF fitting adapts to, I just want something that the torch hose will screw into and seal with!  I can weld*, eah.. probably solder the fitting onto whatever I need... probably an npt fitting or hose barb. Here are those fittings I found at airgas;Hose Coupler Inert Gas RH B-Size 5-8-18 Female to B-Size 5-8-18 FemaleHose Coupler Water B Size 5-8-18 Fem to 5-8-18 Fem LHThat does it, all three fittings... done!*Thanks for the soldering idea.  I probably would have tried to tig it.  Though, brass's thermal  conductivity is between that of aluminum and steel, so it might not be overly difficult to weld.  Maybe I'll try tigging brass just for grinz
