Well some of you may remember last july i had to repair a diffrent pin..but we did'nt have the tig running yet so i welded up the whole bottom of the pin with 7018 and then we re-ground it..Today we had another one come in for the same thing..but this time i used the tig on it...there was a groove worn in it that was only about .010-.015 deep and .020 wide..i tried to take a pic of it but you could not tell where the groove was..i had no idea these things run around 50,000 psi! and that little worn groove was "loosing" 25 or so gallons of oil in 8 hrs..so here is the repaired pin..(not ground yet)and no its not easy staying in the "right place" as you try to "stay in the groove..but with a little patience anything is possible..pin on floor..i know its blurry but what the heck..welded "groove"..it was welded with .045 70-S..80 amps..3/32 red end and the smallest cup I have...(lets not go there )so all we need to do now is grind down the weld..send it out for chrome plating and its done! i get all the fun jobs.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
