Homemade bow press

This is a bow press that I finished today.  If you are not familiar with archery , it is used to relax the tension on the string and cable to allow the bow to be worked on or to make adjustments. Attached Images
Reply:nice job...sorta like a spring compressor for struts..or coil springs but in a diffrent way... ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:VERY HANDY TOOL.  I've done lots of work on bows and wouldn't have been without one.  But, I hope yours is beefier than factory ones.  I worked in two different shops and BOTH of their presses went BOOOOIIINGGGG and sent customers' bows up into the rafters when the stock S-hooks failed.  I was in each shop when it happened.  I was right next to the second one, having just worked on the bow when it blew up, literally.

Reply:Thanks for the compliments.Mack, don't even mention bow explosions.     I don't think my wife would let me live it down if I ruined my bow while working on it with one of the contraptions I built myself.   Yes, that's is a smoker, that I built earlier this year, in the background.  I'll try to post some pics of it on another thread.
Reply:Did you drill all of those holes and round the ends so nice?Or are those lift arms of a 3 pt hitch for a tractor?If you drilled all those holes you either have one good drill bit or know how to sharpen them.Nice looking press a lot of work goes into that type of bowpress.Will that press work with the new parrallel limb bows? I would be afraid to put a parralell limb in my press as it would just slip down right to cams thus making it impossable to work on.It would also scratch the limbs up a bit.
